About the company
The company
started in a cellar in Kristianstad, a town in Skåne, Sweden
in 1993.
At this point, Leif
was the company’s only employee working on commission from a
few different companies. In these days, his sales were
mostly made up of pre-exposed pallets of pick-and-mix candy
sent directly from the factories to the stores.
In 1995, the type of
company he ran was changed into a limited company and the
first closing showed a modest turnover of 2.3 million SEK.
Since then, things have been moving forward and the world
has grown immensely.
In 1997 we started
to import Liquorice Allsorts “Old Chap” from a company
called Klene in Holland. At this point it was obvious that we
needed a warehouse to put it in before we could ship it out
to stores.
Thus, the company
rented a warehouse just outside Kristianstad but after only
two years it had become much too small and a new warehouse
was rented in Fjälkinge. At this point, the company employed
four people and saw a turnover of roughly 23 million SEK.
In 2001, with a
turnover of 74 million SEK, it was clear that we’d outgrown
this warehouse as well. This time we wanted our own
warehouse, rather than renting yet another one. We found an
empty lot in Fjälkinge, right by the warehouse we rented,
and construction began later in that year.
The new warehouse
was finished in May of 2002 and we’ve been here since then.
Leif was appointed
the entrepreneur of the year in 2004, in the municipality of
Kristianstad with a turnover of 134 million SEK Now, the
warehouse was filled to the brim, due to the ever increasing
flow of goods through here.
Thus, in 2005 it was
decided to build an extension and today, the warehouse is
more than twice the size of what it was when we first moved
in. Despite this, we have now had to rent an external
warehouse as things have maintained their momentum through
the years.
Today, we import goods from many
European nations and even as far away as China. The company
currently employs 32 people. In 2008 the turnover was
roughly 206 million SEK, during 2009 the positive
development continued and last year the company's turnover
was 256 million SEK. |
